GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lady Railsplitter tennis team (6-4) continued their winning ways as they defeated Georgetown College (5-4) 7-2 Monday afternoon at the Lackey Tennis Center.
LMU posted wins at all three doubles matches to take the 3-0 lead. No. 1 duo
Elena Vasilyeva and
Priscilla Bulandres cruised by Shae Henry and Natalie Fiepke 8-3,
Javiera Gonzalez and
Rosa Smith picked up a hard-fought 9-7 victory over Kelly Swanson and Kaelin Roberts 9-7 and at No. 3
Marta Pinol and
Roksolana Prudyvus won over Amanda Moore and Abigail Kennedy 8-4.
In singles action, Vasilyeva won over Henry at No. 1 6-3, 6-1, Pinol defeated Moore 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. At No. 4, Prudyvus blanked Emily Novak 6-0, 6-0 while at No. 6 Smith won over Fiepke in a tiebreaker set 4-6, 6-4 12-10.
LMU hosts Coker Thursday at 2 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Complex.
