YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Lady Railsplitters (2-0) will strive for their second consecutive 3-0 start on Wednesday evening when they pay the Mountain Lions of Young Harris (0-1) a visit for an in-region matchup.

Itzel Ballesteros powered the Lady Railsplitters in their season-opening 4-1 win over Erskine, scoring two goals and assisting on two others on Thursday at the LMU Soccer Complex.

Mariana Diaz scored the other two goals for Lincoln Memorial in a match that featured an 82-minute lightning delay and was called after 73 minutes due to further lightning and rain.

Ashlyn Miller tallied the game-winning goal in the 38th minute and the LMU defense posted a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Salem on Saturday in Harrogate. It was the Lady Railsplitters' first shutout since October 2017.
- Of the team's five goals so far this season, four have been scored by newcomers. Ballesteros leads the Lady Railsplitters in goals, assists, points, shots and shots on goal.
- Lincoln Memorial is vying for its second straight 3-0 start after opening the 2017 campaign with consecutive wins over Erskine, Tennessee Wesleyan and USC Aiken. Coincidentally, Young Harris handed the Lady Railsplitters their first loss in 2017 with a 1-0 setback on September 10 at the LMU Soccer Complex.
- The Lady Railsplitters are averaging 17.5 shots per game while allowing just 9.5. LMU has also put 37 percent of its shot attempts on goal compared to just 31.6 percent for opponents.
- Junior goalkeeper
Ann-Marie O'Connell has been steady in her first two appearances in the Blue and Gray, making five saves with an .833 save percentage. Her only blemish came off a set piece late in the season opener against Erskine.
- The Lady Railsplitters are one of two teams in the South Atlantic Conference with two wins and no losses or ties along with Newberry.
- Wednesday begins a stretch of three of four matches on the road for the Lady Railsplitters, who travel to USC Aiken on Sunday before returning home to face Mount Olive on September 12. SAC play begins next Saturday with a trip to Queens.

- Young Harris opened its season by suffering a lopsided 4-0 loss at Limestone, which made a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2017. The Mountain Lions were thoroughly dominated in that contest as the Saints produced a 31-4 edge in shots, including a massive 21-2 disparity in the second half.
- Baylee Roche accounted for all four Young Harris shots, and all four shots landed on target.
- The Mountain Lions were picked fifth in the Peach Belt Conference preseason poll after compiling a 9-6-1 overall record in 2017. Senior midfielder/forward combo Lucero Robayo was named to the preseason All-PBC team. Robayo tallied a team-leading nine goals last season to earn a spot on the All-Southeast Region squad.

- Pien Van Kampen played all 90 minutes in goal in the Mountain Lions' season opener, making nine stops while allowing a hat trick for Limestone's Megan O'Connor.
