Jacob Craig named Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator

Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial University Men's Volleyball Head Coach Brian Hogg has announced the hiring of Jacob Craig as the new Men's Volleyball Assisant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. 

"I am thrilled to welcome Jacob Craig to our team as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator", said Hogg.  "His experience as a high-level collegiate volleyball player, coupled with the insights gained under Head Coach Luke Reynolds, promises to infuse a fresh, dynamic energy into the LMU gym.  Jacob's remarkable eagerness to learn and teach others further enriches our coaching staff adn prepares us for success ahead."

Craig comes to Harrogate after most recently coaching the West Virginia Galaxy 17 red girls travel team.  In 2023, Craig was a part of the West Virginia State Women's volleyball coaching staff as a intern assistant.  The Yellow Jackets went 26-6 that season and winning the south division of the Mountain East Conference before falling in the MEC Championship and the first round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional.  Before his time at West Virginia State, Craig was a volunteer assistant for the University of Charleston's women's volleyball team for two seasons in 2021 and 2022.  While at Charleston, the Golden Eagles went 55-16 with one division title.  The Golden Eagles made it to the MEC Finals in 2022 and made it to the NCAA Atlantic Region Semifinals.

"I am thrilled to continue my coaching career with Lincoln Memorial", said Craig.  "The family atmosphere and nonstop competition that fills this team were huge deciding factors in choosing this program.  I plan to add to the already strong winning mentality and take this program where it wants to go which would be an NCAA title.  I want to be part of the history that this program has and wants to continue to have."

Craig played men's volleyball for four years at the University of Charleston, WV from 2021-2024 as a Libero/Defensive Specialist while completing his bachelor's degree in sports business and management.  He also played from the Richmond Volleyball Club's national teams for four year previous to his time at Charleston.

The Railsplitters will be looking to build off their momentum from last season which saw LMU finish 21-5 and IVA Champions when they hit the court in January.
