Women’s Golf Takes Second in Stroke Play, Advances to Match Play Semis Tomorrow

GREENVILLE, SC – Lincoln Memorial University women's golf is headed to the match play bracket at the 2026 SAC Women's Golf Championship after earning the No. 2 seed in stroke play Monday at The Preserve at Verdae.

After grabbing the Day 1 lead on Sunday, the No. 24 Railsplitters finished second overall at 888 (+24) with rounds of 288-295-305, securing one of the top four spots that advance to medal match play. No. 1 Wingate claimed the top seed at 885 (+21), followed by No. 3 Anderson (SC) in third at 903 (+39) and No. 42 Catawba in fourth at 904 (+40).

LMU was led once again by Dilyara Bulambayeva, who posted a three-round total of 220 (+4) (72-72-76) to finish fourth in the individual standings and keep the Railsplitters in position near the top throughout the championship. Joy Aspetaki and Millie Russell each turned in key scoring performances, tying for eighth at 224 (+8). Aspetaki went 68-80-76, while Russell carded 75-73-76. Ruby McLellan finished tied for 17th at 230 (+14) (73-74-83), and Reese Rexroat added a tie for 22nd at 234 (+18) (81-76-77) as LMU locked in its place in the final four.

With match play set for Tuesday, Lincoln Memorial will enter the bracket as the No. 2 seed and face No. 3 seed Anderson (SC) in the semifinals, while No. 1 Wingate meets No. 4 Catawba on the other side. The winners will advance to the championship match later in the day with the SAC title on the line.
