Josie Tinnerello named First Century Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week

Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse senior attacker Josie Tinnerello has been named the First Century Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week following a string of impressive performances on and off the lacrosse field. A native of Worthington, Ohio, Tinnerello has transitioned from her initial role as a midfielder to become a cornerstone of the Railsplitter attack. Her commitment to excellence is reflected in her 3.630 grade point average while pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. This dedication to her studies has previously earned her numerous academic accolades, including the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, the IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll, and a consistent spot on the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll. Later this spring, her academic journey will reach another milestone as she is inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Tinnerello's impact extends far beyond the classroom and the turf through her extensive history of community service. Since arriving at Lincoln Memorial, she has been a frequent volunteer for the ROHO program from 2023 through 2025, where she assisted local children in selecting essential clothing and toys. Her heart for service began long before college, including nearly a decade of work with Toys for Tots and several years spent preparing meals for food shelters. She has also remained active in youth development by coaching various sports camps for basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse, and she continues to support the local community through events like Halloween Havoc and university environmental service projects.

On the field, Tinnerello has proven to be one of the most prolific offensive threats in the South Atlantic Conference. Her career totals include 141 goals and 22 assists for a total of 163 points across 42 games played. Her 2025 campaign was particularly dominant, as she started 15 games and netted 63 goals, a performance that earned her South Atlantic Conference All-Conference honors and multiple Offensive Player of the Week awards from both the league and the IWLCA. So far in the 2026 season, she has continued her high level of play with 31 goals through 10 games, maintaining a career shot on goal percentage of over 72 percent.
