Amanda Haynes Comparato was a four year starter at first base for the Lady Railsplitters. She adjusted quickly to the college game and positively impacted the teams she played with every time she walked on teams the field. Her high energy and enthusiasm, great attitude, and mental and physical toughness were characteristics she brought with her from Halls High School and undoubtedly possesses today

Amanda still ranks in the top 10 all-time in several offensive and defensive statistics. Among them are: 1st in Most Chances (1,752) and Most Putouts (1,664); 2nd in Most Double Plays Turned (39) and Fielding Percentage (988); 5th in Home runs (31); 6th in Most Games Started (210), Runs Scored (113), Total Bases (310) and Most Walks (62); 8th in Most Games Played (211) and RBI (109); and 9th in Hits (182) and Doubles (35).

Her outstanding accomplishments were recognized by the Gulf South Conference three times when they named her All-GSC. Amanda was also an All-Academic performer, recipient of the team Golden Glove Award and the B Frank Turner Award for the most distinguished combination of athletic prowess, academic success and community involvement.

Amanda and husband Mike Comparato, '02, live in Knoxville, Tennessee, and are the parents of Colby, Miles and Finley. Her hobby is watching her boys play travel baseball.
