During his tenure, he has elevated both programs to national prominence, highlighted by the men's runner-up finish at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship and a No. 1 national ranking in fall 2021.

A five-time South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Coach of the Year, Muncy led the men's team to four SAC titles and seven straight NCAA regional appearances. He also coached seven SAC Players of the Year, three SAC Freshmen of the Year, and two National Player of the Year finalists. On the women's side, he guided the program to consistent top-five SAC finishes, including 10 of his last 12 seasons.

Over his career, Muncy has produced 11 All-Americans and earned two Southeast Region Coach of the Year honors. Before transitioning full-time to collegiate coaching in 2009, he served as Director of Golf Operations at Woodlake Golf Club and received multiple PGA professional awards, including Head Professional of the Year and the Horton Smith Award.
A former collegiate golfer at Edison College, Muncy competed professionally on the Hogan Tour. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (1998) and an MBA (2007), both from LMU.

Muncy was promoted in February of 2024 to Director of Athletics at LMU
where he continues to bring valuable insight and leadership.
