Lauren Kiwacka was more than just a volleyball player. She was a true athlete.

She came in as a hitter and transformed almost literally overnight into a setter. Switching positions in any sport is never easy, but Lauren sure made it seem that way. She was a leader both on and off the court, and established herself quickly and consistently as a solid competitor in the South Atlantic Conference. Among her honors and awards were being named All-SAC in 2009 and 2010, and AVCA All-Region in 2010.

Kiwacka's career All-Time stats include: 1st in Sets Played (479); 5th in Assists (3,159) and tied for 5th in Matches Played (134); 6th in Assists Per Set (6.59) and Service Attempts (1,443); 8th in Service Aces (140) and Block Assists (227); and 10th in Total Blocks (250). For her career, Kiwacka had 11 Triple-Doubles

Lauren resides in Tipp City, Ohio.

"Membership in the LMU Athletes Hall of Fame means all of the hours put in by coaches teammates, family, friends and teammates have paid of. It means what we worked for and accomplished as a team bas been recognized. It means that our accomplishments are as cherished by LMU as they are by us." -- Lauren Kiwacka

"I was so excited to hear that Lauren (aka Waka) was being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. Lauren was always a true team-player, and this especially showed when she had to completely change positions from being a middle blocker to our only setter in the middle of the year. Not only did she adapt to her new position, but she quickly became one of the best setters
in the conference. Lauren was a true leader and role model on and off the court."

"I had the pleasure of playing three years with Lauren Kiwacka at LMU after I saw her play for several years in high school and club. I was so excited to have another middle from Ohio join the team. These plans changed due to our need for a setter. Our coaches had the crazy idea of making a right side / middle into a setter. I will never forget her first time as an official college setter ber freshman year. She only took one practice to train in the position and lead us to a win against Carson Newman. After this I was not surprised to see my middle hitter friend go on to lead the SAC in assists and be such a huge part of our 2008 and 2009 NCAA regional tournament runs. On top of being a great athlete, she has always been a kind and caring teammate and friend, which translates well into her teaching and coaching now. This hall of fame nomination is very well deserved and I could not be more proud of my friend." -- Allison Hess, 10, '15, teammate
