LMU Athletes Hall of Fame
Elena Vasilyeva, came to LMU from Russia and is currently living in England where she is a senior client account manager for ICS-digital.The three years Vasilyeva spent at LMU were productive. She had 41 career singles wins (top 15 in LMU history), with a 67.2 winning percentage (Top 15 winning percentage in LMU history); 40 career doubles wins (top15 in LMU history), and a winning percentage of 63.5 (top 20 in LMU history).Vasliyeva's honors included First Team All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Singles in 2014, 2015 and 2016. She was named to the First Team All-SAC Doubles in 2014 and earned one SAC Player of the Week nod in 2014. Vasilyeva helped lead her team to their first SAC Tournament appearance in three seasons when they made the tournament in 2016, her senior season. She was ranked as high as 11th in the region in 2016 and was the number one singles player for LMU throughout her career. Vasilyeva's favorite hobby is yoga. She is married to LMU alum George Burne, '17.
